Chispani and Chaurunge Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Project (WASH)

Description

Chisapani Pokharital Water Supply and Sanitation Project

The Chisapani Pokharital Water Supply and Sanitation Project, implemented by the Partnership for Sustainable Development Nepal (PSDN), aims to ensure equitable access to safe drinking water and dignified sanitation services for the Chisapani, Pokharital, and Ratamata communities. The project will benefit approximately 250 households, reaching around 1,200 people, and two community primary schools serving 260 children. Designed in alignment with national WASH priorities and the global Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), the project directly contributes to universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water, adequate sanitation, and improved hygiene. By replacing decades of water insecurity and poor sanitation with reliable, climate-resilient infrastructure and community-managed services, the project strengthens public health, educational outcomes, and social dignity. Technical and financial support from Engineers Without Borders (EWB)–Georgia Tech ensures high-quality design, capacity development, and long-term sustainability, transforming a long-standing aspiration of marginalized communities into lasting WASH solutions.
